- -Azouz lives with his aunt Hayat and her husband, Yahya, a naval officer. Egyptian intelligence suspects the Greek girl, Marcel. They recruit Yahya to watch her, and they meet again. Hayat is killed and Marcel is arrested as she is leaving the country. They put pressure on her, so they find out about Azouz, who urges him to steal a tape recording of her from Hayat, on which she records her conversations with Yahya, and this hinders - if it falls into the hands of her husband - the procedures for her divorce from him. Hayat feels Azouz, so he kills her. He is sentenced to death, but he dies of fear before execution.
