(AMIRA PRINCESS) is an Arabic film directed by Egyptian director Mohamed Diab, and it is the first film. Produced in 1921 AD, produced by a group of companies with joint production and starring: Tara Abboud (Amira), Saba Mubarak (Warda), Ali Suleiman (Nawar), Samira Asir (Rima), Saleh Bakri (Itay), and Walid Zuaiter (Saeed). , Ziad Bakri (Basil), Qais Nashif (Hani), and Nadim Al-Rimawi. (Soldier), Abdel Rahman (Yasser Hassan), Ishaq Elias (Suleiman), Reem Telhami (Grandmother) and Walid Mahmoud.
The story of the film revolves around Amira, a 17-year-old Palestinian girl, who was born from sperm smuggled from her captive father, Nawar, who was sentenced for life in the prisons of the Zionist occupation (Israel). Although their relationship since their birth has been limited to prison visits, he remains her hero. His absence from her life is compensated for with love and affection from those around her. But when a failed attempt to have another child reveals Nawar's infertility, Amira's world is turned upside down.
This is simply the story of the film.. and the film is a stupid attempt to distort the image of those who filmed the Palestinian struggle against the Zionist occupation.. It also contains a hideous historical falsification of the time period in which the operations carried out by the freedom fighters were carried out at that time. In comparison, this film is with the film (Bon Bona) by director Rakan Al-Masry. We will find a noticeable superiority to this film, despite its brevity, as it dealt with the idea more realistically, without falsification, which seemed to me deliberate and intentional.
The issue of DNA verification was necessary to complete the process of pregnancy and then procreation, and the Palestinian activists did not begin this process except after political and medical consultations to complete the procedures.. The processes were not as the individuals wanted..
In fact, I do not know why the director resorted to these fallacies? Is the intention for dramatic or production needs, financing conditions, and nominations for awards? As the film was nominated and won several awards, including the Venice International Film Festival on September 3, 2021, and competed in the Orizzonte Competition. The film won two awards at the festival: the Lanterna Magica Award and the Interfilm Award. It was chosen to represent Jordanian cinema for the Best International Feature Film Award at the 94th Academy Awards, but after the uproar caused by a number of Jordanian critics, filmmakers, and intellectuals, it was withdrawn by the Commission. Ownership of the films was lost due to the controversy surrounding the film's subject matter.
In truth, it was nothing more than an ordinary television movie similar to Arab dramatic series. It chose an important topic in the Palestinian struggle against the Zionist (Israel) and used skepticism as an element of excitement and controversy, as if it were reflecting that on the entire Palestinian struggle, questioning its feasibility.
